Large companies which have a corporate hubs or centralized headquarters typically appoint a mail room clerk to oversee the payments, flow of bills and to keep a track of other mails. The work of the mail room’s clerk is to weigh packages, open, stamp, classify and do the sorting of the various envelopes.
They are even responsible for the distribution of the mail to proper recipients inside the company. A mail room clerk does the required sorting of incoming mail department or receiving for an individual. In a number of companies, the clerk even opens and categorizes mail like invoices for accounts payable sections.
